What's So Good About ScribeFire Next?
I'm writing this post with ScribeFire Next, an add-on for Firefox browser.
So, how's the ScribeFire? You can use it with Firefox or as an extension to Chrome, Opera etc.
You can post to blogs from Wordpress, Blogger, TypePad, Windows Live Spaces, Tumblr, Posterous, Xanga, LiveJournal, or any other blog that supports the MetaWeblog or MovableType APIs.
Here's what you do:
- After installing the add-on restart your browser.
- Click on the icon to open the ScribeFire.
- Add your blogs in.
- Click Start A New Post.
- Write a post. You can edit it as you wish and add photos, videos, links etc.
- Add tags to your post.
- Click Publish Post.
What makes ScribeFire Next very cool is that after you have made the post you can add the same post to your other blogs or edit it a bit and publish it in another blog. Also if you're making a series of blog posts you can save/publish/scedule them all at the same time. Saves a lot of time. Not to mention you don't have to log in to your blogs for posting but can post straight from your browser where ever you are. You have the upper half of your screen for surfing while you're writing your post so it is easy to check things or add links etc. when you don't have to change tabs. Just open anything you need to the upper half of your screen.
Try it out and let me know how do you like it?
25 Best Blogging Ideas To Keep Your Readers Coming Back For More
Have you ever experienced the so-called "writer's block" while trying to come up with new ideas to blog about? Those dry spells can be tough when you just can't seem to think of anything to write about.
I have come up with a list of 25 blogging ideas and tips I have found will ward off that annoying writer's block. Here goes:
- Review a product. Who doesn't like to find out if a product is worth the money or not? Let your audience have a sneak peek.
- Expand on a comment left on your blog. Comments can spark great discussion and even better blog posts!
- Give a tip list. Just like this one. They are helpful and useful.
- Do an interview. Find an expert in your niche, interview them, and either put the interview in it's entirety as a post or break it up into several posts.
- Run a contest.
- Conduct a poll.
- Use a guest blogger. This is one of the easiest ways to ignore "writer's block." Get someone else to blog for you!
- List a few of your favorite websites and tell why you like them and why your readers will too.
- Give reasons you like social media (or not!)
- Write about someone who inspires you.
- Do a how-to video. These are becoming more and more popular. You are essentially creating a tutorial for your readers.
- Grab a news headline and relate it to your niche.
- Solve a problem.
- Do a Q & A. You might even get the questions from the comments on your blog!
- Share your experience from a live event.
- List your favorite books.
- Recommend your favorite blogging tools. If you're a blogger, you've got them. Share.
- Share your recent challenges. Sharing something you have had to overcome helps others reach their goals too.
- Reveal a failure. This does two things. It makes you very "real" to your reader and it also helps them not make the same mistake.
- List upcoming live events with dates, time, and place.
- Have a good rant. Controversy never hurt anyone. In fact, a little controversy will bring more readers to your blog. Nobody wants to read vanilla and bland blogs on a regular basis!
- List your most popular blog posts (anyone noticing the theme of "lists?" )
- Share how you monetize your blog.
- List your best marketing ideas. Or list ideas pertaining to your particular niche. Ways to make your reader's life a little better!
- Write a list of 25 great blog ideas. OK, I couldn't resist!
Really, if you think about it, there is no reason to run out of ideas to blog about. Chances are, one of these 25 items will get your creative juices flowing!

You become a better writer by writing
I thought I take the advice of Seth Godin and start writing something into this blog every day. You don't need to be perfect to start with. You will get better just by writing.
I joined the Blog Catalog today. It's like the name says a catalogue for bloggers to add their blogs in. At Blog Catalog you can read blogs under variety of subjects and rate them, chat with the authors etc.
